As a potential student embarking on a course of study at Megamas, it is important that you are aware of the terms and conditions attached to your attendance on a NEBOSH course run by Megamas.

You will be expected to sign a disclaimer, stating that you have read and understood the terms and conditions laid out below. This should be returned to Megamas before the start of the course or, at the very latest, on the first day of the course.

1. Learning agreement

A learning agreement is a document, signed by the senior Megamas manager, that lays out what you can expect from Megamas during and, if appropriate, after the duration of the course.

Similarly, it lays down the students’ responsibilities during your course of study.

The Learning Agreement is our contract of requirements and expectations and a copy of the Learning Agreement is included in your welcome pack. This should also be signed by the student and returned to Megamas prior to the start of the course.

2. Complaints procedure

Whilst Megamas shall endeavour to provide a first-class experience to all students, things may go wrong or fail to live up to the expectations of the students.

Wherever a problem or issue arises, students are asked, in the first instance, to talk to their tutor to endeavour to rectify the issue. It is our experience that this approach resolves practically every problem that arises.

Should a problem arise, however, that cannot be resolved by the tutor then Megamas has a formal complaints procedure. This means that any grievance can be escalated to senior managers within Megamas who shall endeavour to resolve the problem.

If resolution is not possible within Megamas then a mechanism is in place to further escalate the issue to NEBOSH.

All complaints are taken seriously and it is policy of Megamas to ensure all complaints are dealt with fully.

A copy of the Complaints Procedure is included in your welcome pack.

3. Course cancellations, deferments and refunds

Cancellation by Megamas.

Whilst Megamas will make every effort to run advertised courses on time and in full there may be circumstances that dictate that this cannot be fulfilled.

  • Megamas reserve the right to postpone or cancel an advertised course where the minimum number of students necessary for the course to go ahead is not met.
  • Where circumstances outside the control of Megamas prevail, e.g. Government restrictions enforced by pandemics, it may be necessary to cancel or postpone the advertised course.

In both of the above circumstances enrolled students would normally be offered the choice of a full refund or transfer onto a later course

Cancellation or deferment by student.

We understand that a change in circumstances may force learners to cancel or defer their learning.

Where a student is requesting a deferment to a later course, this will normally be allowed without cost, providing:

  • A registration fee for an external exam has not been paid, and / or
  • The deferment is requested, in writing, prior to the commencement of the course.

Where a student is requesting that their place on the course be cancelled, then depending upon the reason for cancellation the terms of the Megamas Refunds Policy shall be applied.

Under exceptional circumstance, e.g. serious illness, the terms of the Refunds Policy may be waived. This will be entirely at the discretion of the Megamas senior managers.

Megamas will endeavour to accommodate any changes within the boundaries of our Cancellation Refunds Policy (see below).

There are a number of circumstances where a full or partial refund will not normally be given:

  • A refund will not be given to any learner who, having started a course, fails to complete that course or withdraws from that course without prior agreement except in exceptional circumstances.
  • A full refund will not be given where a deferment would result in a learner missing a booked external assessment except in exceptional circumstances.

Cancellation Refund Policy

In the event that registration is complete but a candidate is unable to attend the course, the following rules apply:

  • For cancellations made more than 4 weeks prior to the start of the course, candidates will get a full refund of their deposit or be transferred to another course run by Megamas.
  • For cancellations made more than 21 days prior to the start of the course, candidates will get a full refund of their deposit less B$300 administration fee, or be transferred to another course run by Megamas.
  • For cancellations less than 21 days prior to the start of the course, candidates will be refunded 50% of all fees.
  • For cancellations less than 14 days prior to the start of the course, candidates will not be eligible for a refund.

4. Equal opportunities

Megamas is committed to ensuring equal opportunities in the provision of its services as a training organisation. Our aim is to ensure that all individuals and organisations with whom Megamas has a relationship receive equal treatment regardless of gender, sexual orientation, colour, ethnic or national origin, age, marital status, family circumstances, socio-economic background, disability and religious or political beliefs.
