Learner support – How we help

It is our aim at Megamas to ensure that all students have an enjoyable and successful experience during their studies. To help us achieve that, we offer a full support package to all of our students before, during and after the course.


Pre-course support

Our learner welcome pack should give you all of the answers to the most commonly asked questions from ‘What can I expect from my course?’ to ‘Do you cater for students with special dietary needs?’

There may be some questions or issues that are not specifically dealt with in our pack. If that is the case you are encouraged to contact our team for guidance and advice. You can contact us during business hours by phone or at any times by email. You will be directed to the most suitable group to answer your queries whether they are administrative or course related technical issues.

Support during your course

All NEBOSH courses run by Megamas are classroom based and you will have a dedicated tutor for the duration of the course. Under normal circumstances this person will be your first point of contact for any queries or issues that may arise during the course.

In the unlikely event that the tutor cannot resolve your issue, then you may ask to see a manager who will endeavour to resolve the problem.

If the query is a complaint then the Megamas Complaint Procedure guides you through action to be taken.

Should you need to take time off during the course for illness or urgent family matters, the tutor will advise you on how to keep up with your studies. If this is not possible then a deferment to a later course may be necessary. Deferment is covered in out Terms and Conditions.

To help you with your studies you will be given comprehensive course material which covers the whole of the syllabus. We also give you copies of local Brunei HSE law and other useful guidance. There should be no need to buy any additional reference books or study material.

For the NEBOSH IGC course students should bring a laptop or tablet to access online material as part of the tutorials / exercises.


Non technical support

In addition to our tutorial and administrative teams we have a dedicated canteen that provides a free lunch and water / hot drinks throughout the day. Soft drinks and snacks are also available to purchase. If you have any special dietary needs please inform us on your return slip and we shall endeavour to meet your needs.

There is ample car parking at both the KB and Kiulap sites. You are advised to not leave any valuables in your car.

There is internet access at both sites and you will be given a password to allow you access on arrival.


Post course support

With the exception of the NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) all NEBOSH courses finish with an assessment on the final day of the course. Results will be sent to students when they have been released by NEBOSH.

IGC students will have two assessments. One, the ‘practical IG2’ is completed at the end of the course. The other, IG1, is sat at a time determined by NEBOSH. This may be up to 2 months after the end of the course. During the time leading up to the IG1 exam, students are encouraged to maintain contact with Megamas particularly regarding revision matters.

IGC students will be contacted prior to the IG1 examination to confirm timings etc.

You may be contacted a number of months after your course to complete a satisfaction questionnaire. This is not to be confused with the end of course questionnaire. The purpose of the satisfaction questionnaire is to determine whether the course has proved useful in your work and whether, on reflection, there may be improvements that Megamas might make.

If you do receive a satisfaction questionnaire we would be very grateful if you would take some time to complete it. Your views are valuable.
