Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd conducts its business to the highest standards of health, safety and concern for the environment. In all company activities, Megamas pursues the reduction of risks and to maintain a healthy and productive workplace free from the potential adverse effects of alcohol, controlled substances and drugs.

Any individual being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other such substances at work is clearly in contravention of this objective and can present a risk to co-workers, course attendees, Megamas assets, the community and themselves.

The underlying rationale for this policy is one of general safety. Megamas wishes to ensure that all employees and those people that it does business with recognise this threat and aims at minimising the risks involved.

Policy

  • Being at work, or on company business, whilst impaired by drugs, alcohol or other controlled substances is strictly prohibited.
  • The illicet use of legal drugs or the use, posession, distribution, or sale of illegal drugs while on Company business or at Company locations is strictly prohibited.
  • The use or possession of alcohol at Megamas is strictly prohibited.
  • Staff involved in incidents or workplace problems giving rise to reasonable suspicion of drugs, alcohol or other substance abuse, may be requested to undergo testing for drugs, alcohol or substance abuse. Random testing is carried out periodically by Megamas and may also be carried out under client programmes or in compliance with legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Where course attendees, contractors and/or other visitors to Megamas are involved in incidents or situations giving rise to reasonable suspicion of alcohol, drugs or other substance abuse, their respective company shall be informed and they shall be removed from Megamas premises.

Failure to observe the policy as set out above will be grounds for applicable lawful disciplinary action up to and including dismissal and/or removal from Megamas. In the event of a conflict between any provisions of this Policy and applicable laws, the applicable laws shall apply.
