This course is designed to train the participants to be competent in resuscitation and the management of shock, bleeding and burns. Participants will also be trained to deal with soft tissue injuries as well as utilisation of the recovery position for casualties.

On completion of the course, participants will also be able to describe the principles of first aid and the legislation and documentation involving injuries and first aid in the workplace. Participants will also be made aware of the workings of the respiratory and the circulatory system, trained in the application of CPR and the AED, managing anaphylaxis as well as recognising and managing fractures.
