This course is a professional qualification that allows individuals to gain a good grounding in the operational safety requirements in the oil and gas environment. It is designed for individuals for whom an appreciation of hydrocarbon process safety is vital to their roles; this includes managers, supervisors, employee representatives and health and safety officers.

This qualification has been professionally structured as a competency development course for personnel working in the safety industry, with specific focus on the oil & gas industry.

The course is divided into five elements as follows:

• Element 1: Health, Safety and environmental management in context
  
• Element 2: Hydrocarbon process safety 1
  
• Element 3: Hydrocarbon process safety 2
  
• Element 4: Fire protection and emergency response
  
• Element 5: Logistics and Transport operation

Candidates will be assessed through a two hour written examination at the end of the course.
