The course aims to provide target participants (Driving School Instructors) with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver New Drivers (Novice) driving sessions efficiently and carry out driving duties in safe, courteous, responsible and in a systematic manner.

This course will train participants in best practices for safe driving such as pre-journey vehicle & driving checks, Fitness to Drive assessment, driving with an onboard ‘System of Vehicle Control’ and other Defensive Driving techniques. Participants will also practice defensive driving maneouvers for emergency situations.

Participants will also be educated on Brunei road traffic regulations and highway signs as well as intrinsic and non-intrinsic vehicle HSE practices and equipment. This includes driving posture, vehicle safety equipment (e.g. seatbelts, airbags, ABS, IVMS, etc), safe stopping distances, accident management and adverse weather conditions compensation. Participants are also trained in the basic elements of first aid (DRABC).
